1 VIAVI Solutions Data Sheet VIAVI AM/FM/NOAA Antenna Kit Super Wideband Coverage Aerial System The AM/FM/NOAA antenna kit is an ultra-wide range external receiving aerial with a usable frequency coverage Key Features of 30 kHz to 2 GHz (a passive splitter allows a frequency Complete passive system y range of 100 kHz to 500 MHz) – short wave/VHF/UHF. y Superior low noise The aerial is designed for areas where space is a problem or when an “unobtrusive” installation is essential. The antenna Free of cross/intermodulations y assembly is a passive arrangement providing two whip y Covers AM, FM, and NOAA radio bands elements: a long element for short wave up to 30 MHz and a second shorter loaded whip aerial for frequencies up to y Stainless steel and aluminum construction 2 GHz. The loading coils are tuned around 150 and 800 MHz Equipped with low-loss coaxial cable y to enhance performance of the VHF and UHF bands. The aerial is a compact 1.8 meters in total height. A single coaxial lead feeds both whips in a weatherproof enclosure which in turn bolts to a suitable supporting mast (not provided). Approximately 15 meters of terminated coaxial cable is supplied, ready to plug in. The antenna array connects to a passive splitter, which distributes incoming radio signals to as many as four receivers. The kit includes four lengths of cable – each 18 inches in length – to connect the splitter outputs directly to the antenna inputs. The cables feature BNC connectors on one end, and F-type connectors on the opposite end. The AM/FM/NOAA antenna kit is easy to assemble and use; an instruction sheet is supplied. V-bolts and clamps are included but a small stub mast will be required for installation, which should be as high as possible and in clear space. Run the coaxial cable to your listening location; the path should not be important but avoid power cables, TV downleads, and computers.
